About the Role Senior Staff Software Engineer, Payments will help design and scale Airbnb's in-house payments platform. You will contribute to a world-class payments infrastructure that enables billions of dollars to move across 191 countries and 75 currencies, supporting both guests and hosts. The role sits on the Airbnb Payments team, which aims to enable frictionless money exchange globally and expand partnerships, licenses, and compliance controls as the platform grows. What You'll Do
- Design, build, and scale features for Airbnb's global payments platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including partnerships, compliance, and product to enable new payment partners and currencies.
- Maintain security, reliability, and regulatory compliance across 191 countries.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to system architecture for high-throughput payments.
