Job Summary
The Registered Midwife is responsible for providing safe, evidence-based, compassionate, and high-quality care to women during pregnancy, labour, childbirth, and the postnatal period. The Midwife also provides essential newborn care, health education, family planning counselling, and supports the multidisciplinary healthcare team in promoting maternal and child health.
Key Responsibilities
Antenatal Care:
- Conduct comprehensive antenatal assessments.
- Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing.
- Identify high-risk pregnancies and promptly refer to the appropriate clinician.
- Provide antenatal health education on nutrition, birth preparedness, breastfeeding, danger signs, and newborn care.
