Operating Engineer

Description

• Under the direction of the Assistant Manager Utilities & Elevator Services, the incumbent is responsible for the safe and economical operation and maintenance of all Utilities equipment and associated services for all buildings on UTM campus. The incumbent is also responsible to the Chief Operating Engineer for operation of the Central Utilities Plant.

• Typical Duties The following illustrative tasks indicate the level of skill required and the extent of responsibility involved in this job; they in no way limit the incumbent to the tasks indicated:

• Regular rounds of mechanical equipment and Utilities services such as checking equipment temperatures and pressures, conducting water chemical treatment tests, changing filters, regenerating softeners and de-alkalized water equipment, etc.;
