About this role

Responsibilities

Biodiversity Monitoring:

  • Support implementation of monitoring systems for priority species (e.g., elephants and primates) and habitats.
  • Conduct field surveys including transects, camera trapping, and support data management of patrol-based monitoring.
  • Assist in data collection and contribute to wildlife population and habitat assessments.

Research, Data Management & Analysis:

  • Collect ecological data using SMART and other field survey tools.
  • Ensure accurate data entry, validation, and submission to central databases.
  • Maintain monitoring records and datasets, supporting integration with GIS systems.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Contribute to preparation of monitoring reports, field updates, and data summaries.
  • Document field observations, threats (e.g., poaching, encroachment), and emerging trends.
