Purpose
- To diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components on trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring fleet reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
The Job
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on trucks, trailers, and tractors using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Detect, interpret, and rectify electrical fault codes to restore vehicle functionality.
- Inspect, test, and maintain vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, batteries, alternators, and starter motors.
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic control systems and electrical components on diesel-powered vehicles.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize vehicle breakdowns and downtime.
