About this role
Alectra is seeking an Apprentice, System Controller (PWU) to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced System Controllers. The position provides hands-on experience in operating, authorizing and directing the safe and reliable operation of the Alectra distribution system. The apprenticeship requires a 24/7 rotating shift schedule and on-call duties when fully qualified. The role supports a career path toward becoming a System Controller, with training and progression over the course of the program. It can be based in Hamilton (John St) or Vaughan (Cityview).
- Operate, authorize and direct the safe and reliable operation of the Alectra distribution system under normal and emergency conditions on a 24/7 basis.
- Monitor, control, and record all activities on the distribution system.
